Piano Technician Composer | Illustrator

Hello!

My name is Shawn Spencer, although sometimes known by the moniker General Mors online, and I thank you for visiting Arpeggiated Arts. I’m a piano technician servicing grand pianos in the Bay Area of California and providing music composition and illustration services globally.

I take pride in the work I put forth and hope each and every project, whether it be a piano I service or a piece I compose/illustrate, brings a smile to someone’s face as I’ve had the pleasure of being given. As such, I aim to deliver the highest level of excellence with each and every service regardless of what a client seeks.

As a piano technician, I provide piano tuning, regulation, repair, and voicing for grand pianos after having apprenticed under Peter Acronico RPT and receiving further training at the Steinway & Sons factory in NYC to be certified in Spirio service. I offer services for home, educational institutions, and concert venues with comprehensive care and commitment for every piano I have the honor of servicing.

For music composition, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Composition and specialize in scoring for film and media. My primary influences are Evan Call and Keiichi Okabe (岡部 啓一) and their work on Violet Evergarden & Frieren to the NieR series respectively, to which I owe a great deal to musically in my own journey. I’ve composed various works for piano and smaller ensembles, including a string quartet performed by Friction Quartet (2025), with the largest being a four movement orchestral work.

For illustrations, I provide service primarily through digital illustration while also providing graphite and ink work for those preferring traditional pieces. Again, I would be remiss if I didn’t my primary influences in artists like Akihiko Yoshida (吉田 明彦) and Mikamuse, whose art has left a profound impact on me and my own work as I continue to grow as an artist.

Lastly, it’s truly an honor to have my work be enjoyed and experienced in any capacity, but even more so to work with others in these various industries. I sincerely look forward to working alongside you in caring for your piano or producing original work for your project or personal collection and, ever humbly, await the opportunity to craft sight and sound for you.
